The Canucks pulled a bold move on March 11th of 2022 when they signed an undrafted free agent out of the WHL to an entry-level contract. Then 21 years old, the Surrey, BC. Native Arshdeep Bains had just completely dominated the WHL with the Red Deer Rebel where he collected nothing less than 112 points in 68 games.
The forward came to Vancouver at the beginning of the year with one objective in mind, to shatter every expectation and it appears he's achieved just that. Bains graduated to the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks where he collected 38 points in 66 games his progression through the year has been so impressive that the big team's GM Patrik Allvin, acknowledges Bains has the player who took a major step in his development:
''Took a step this season. He needs a big summer.''

At 6'00 and 185 pounds, his versatility makes him a player that could fill any void in the Canucks line-up.
