Canucks radio show answer to the Hughes disrespect: Shots fired
Some Oilers talk show went viral over the weekend for directing clear shots at the Canucks' captain Quinn Hughes. In light of what is about to be the NHL's most spirited second-round matchup, the shots have officially been fired from both sides.
Since the season began, the disrespect has been fundamental for Canucks' captain Quinn Hughes. With an incredible season that nominated him to the Norris Trophy (NHL's top defenceman), the detractors haven't stopped. As the second round awaits its debut, the Oilers' fans and many radio shows have been trying to get to Quinn Hughes' head ever since the matchup between the two Canadian teams was announced: Edmonton radio shows disrespect towards Canucks' captain Quinn Hughes.
On Sportsnet650, Dan Riccio and Satiar Shah directed a shot of their own at the Oilers, claiming that they were jealous that their very own $9M defenceman wasn't even a shadow of Quinn Hughes' game:
"Is it jealousy that their 9+ million dollar defenceman can't hold a candle to Quinn Hughes?"🤔
@danriccio_ and @SatiarShah respond to Oilers radio's criticism of Quinn Hughes on #Canucks Central.
He referred to Darnell Nurse, the 6'4'' giant playing on the Oilers blueline since 2014. He was awarded a massive extension worth $74M through 8 years during the summer of 2021. Since Nurse signed his massive deal, he failed to register over 42 points.
