The Vancouver Canucks' projected lineup and starting goaltender has been announced ahead of Monday night's game against the Florida Panthers.
After splitting the first two games of their road trip, including a 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday night, the Vancouver Canucks are back in action tonight as they take on the two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers.
As everyone knows by now, Adam Foote's group has been dealing with quite a few injuries since the season began and the latest to be sidelined is Conor Garland, who won't be suiting up tonight after leaving Sunday's game following a fight with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Darren Raddysh.
Along from Garland being out for tonight's game, there are a couple other changes to tonight's lineup that were announced a little while ago by Head Coach Adam Foote.
Vancouver Canucks' projected lineup, starting goalie announced for tonight's game vs Florida Panthers
Speaking with reporters a couple hours before puck drop, Adam Foote announced that goaltender Jiri Patera, who the club signed back in July 2024, will get the start between the pipes and make his Vancouver Canucks debut this evening.
Patera, a native of Prague, Czechia, last appeared in an NHL game on March 26th, 2024 as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights, allowing five goals on 35 shots in an overtime loss to Kiefer Sherwood and the Nashville Predators.
Speaking of Kiefer Sherwood, who leads the team with 12 goals this season, he's been elevated to the Canucks' top line for tonight's game due to the injury to Conor Garland.
