The Vancouver Canucks' prospect pool might not be the deepest in the National Hockey League, but it certainly boasts a few players who have a legit shot of being an impact player once they arrive.
Patrik Allvin has done a pretty good job of acquiring talent through the draft, especially in the later rounds, like in 2024 when he used a sixth-round pick to select Anthony Romani of the North Bay Battalion, who led the Ontario Hockey League in goals during the 2023-24 season.
Some of those other later round draft selections like Kirill Kudryavtsev, a seventh-rounder in 2022, have begun making an impact in the organization, which has earned them recognition in prospect power rankings.
On Tuesday, Steve Ewen of The Province released a new edition of his prospect power rankings for the Vancouver Canucks, with Jonathan Lekkerimaki taking the top spot, but it isn't the first time he's been in that position this season.
Coming in second on Ewen's list is Tom Willander of Boston University, who the Vancouver Canucks selected 11th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
Willander is having a solid sophomore season in the NCAA, registering nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 12 games, along with four penalty minutes and is a plus-six.
Belarussian forward Danila Klimovich rounds out the top-three after a strong showing in recent weeks and is currently Abbotsford's co-leading scorer with 12 points, tied with John Stevens.
Let's take a look at Ewen's full prospect power rankings for this week:
1. Jonathan Lekkerimaki (Abbotsford - AHL)
2. Tom Willander (Boston University - NCAA)
3. Danila Klimovich (Abbotsford - AHL)
