The National Hockey League has reportedly agreed to a massive new television deal that involves the Vancouver Canucks and other Canadian teams.

From a business standpoint, the National Hockey League hasn't been in a better position than it is today, including record revenues over the last few seasons, which will allow the salary cap to rise significantly in the years ahead.
Gary Bettman and the league are entering a busy period as well, with collective bargaining talks set to begin this month and the need to get a Canadian television deal done as the current one is expiring after next season, but it looks like there's some news on that front.

NHL reportedly agrees to massive new television deal with Rogers

If you're a fan of the National Hockey League broadcasts on Sportsnet, which have been a staple in the homes of Canadians since 2013, you're in for a treat.
According to Sportico, the National Hockey League and Canadian telecommunication company, Rogers, have reportedly agreed to terms on a new 12-year deal starting in 2026-27 that worth an estimated $7.7 billion USD ($11 billion CAD).
"The NHL has reached an agreement with Rogers Communications on a new 12-year Canadian TV deal that will pay the league about $7.7 billion ($11 billion CAD), according to multiple people familiar with the details." Sportico said on Monday.

For the Vancouver Canucks and their fans, this means that national broadcasts such as Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday's and Wednesday Night Hockey remain on Sportsnet channels.
As for regional broadcasts, those contracts are done separately between teams and Rogers, with Vancouver agreeing to a new ten-year deal back in 2022 that keeps the club on Sportsnet Pacific through the 2032-33 season.
There are plenty of questions that remain regarding the new NHL and Rogers deal, one of the bigger ones being - will Monday Night Hockey broadcasts remain with Amazon Prime or will they return to Sportsnet?
To recoup some of the losses from their current deal with the NHL, Sportsnet sold sold their Monday national broadcasts to Amazon Prime, which has been a big hit among fans of every Canadian team and it's safe to say they hope it'll return beyond the 2025-26 season.
The National Hockey League has yet to comment on this reported new deal with Rogers, but an announcement will likely be on the way in the coming months.
