The agent for Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko has given a big update on his clients health heading into the 2025-26 National Hockey League season.
After weeks of uncertainty regarding his future with the Vancouver Canucks organization,
including a report that he would be open to a change of scenery, the Vancouver Canucks and goaltender Thatcher Demko will be together for at least the next four seasons.
After a tough injury-filled season which limited him to just 23 games, Thatcher Demko is already gearing up for the 2025-26 campaign and his agent gave a very encouraging update on his client on Tuesday.

During a recent edition of Donnie & Dhali with Don Taylor and Rick Dhaliwal, Jordan Neumann, the agent for Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko, gave an update on his client's health this summer.
According to Neumann, Demko is back to 100 percent health and has already begun his off-season training program earlier than he ever has in the past, which includes being on ice, something Vancouver Canucks fans are happy to hear.
"He is 100 percent. I was out there visiting with him two weeks ago and he's already begun skating as part of his off-season program, which he's never really done this early. He feels great. He's not restricted in any way.
It's the first summer in a long time where he's not doing any rehab of any kind. It gives him tremendous optimism and excitement moving forward, which is another reason why he was really comfortable doing a shorter term." Neumann said.
The San Diego, California native had a tough time with injuries in 2024 including one late in the 2023-24 regular season and then another in the first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs that year against the Nashville Predators.
Demko didn't end up making his 2024-25 season debut until December 10th and then just two months later, he sustained an injury that kept him out for roughly six weeks.
In 23 games last season, the 29-year-old had a record of 10-8-3, along with a 2.90 goals against average, an .889 save percentage and one shutout.
It's great to hear that Thatcher Demko is back to 100 percent health and if he's able to return to his form from two seasons ago, which earned him a nomination for the Vezina Trophy, then it'll be a big boost for Vancouver's hopes of making the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
