Eye-Opening Report Doubts Brock Boeser's Ability to Score for the Vancouver Canucks
A bold prediction was announced recently regarding Brock Boeser's 2025-26 season, with the team hoping he can help them return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Vancouver Canucks' top-six could've looked a lot different if it weren't for a last-minute phone call from General Manager Patrik Allvin to Brock Boeser's representatives on July 1st that led to the forward
signing a long-term seven-year contract with the club.
Boeser saw a bit of a drop-off in terms of his production last season, going from 40 goals and 73 points during the 2023-24 campaign to 25 goals and 50 points in 2024-25, and there's no reason why the Burnsville, Minnesota native can't return to a 35-40 goal pace this year, especially if he's put with
Elias Pettersson and
Evander Kane,
who the team acquired back in June from the Edmonton Oilers.
Bold prediction announced for Vancouver Canucks' Brock Boeser ahead of 2025-26 season
Over the weekend, Daniel Wagner of Vancouver is Awesome shared some of his bold predictions for the Vancouver Canucks' 2025-26 season, with one of them involving Brock Boeser.
Wagner's prediction for Brock Boeser this season is that he won't reach the 30-goal mark, but he will set a new career-high with a 40-assist campaign for the Canucks, with his previous high being 37 in 2022-23 .
"Assuming that Boeser plays with a hopefully revitalized Elias Pettersson on the top line, he'll have either Evander Kane or Jake DeBrusk on his other wing, both of whom are finishers more than they are playmakers. That means the interplay between Pettersson and Boeser will be vital for creating offence." Wagner said.
He added, "Boeser's career high in assists is 37, not far off from 40, which is why this is the mildest of the bold predictions. Still, it seems likely that he'll have to be more of a distributor this season than in past years and hit a career high in assists."
If Boeser does play on the top-line, which is widely expected at this point, along with the first power play unit, there's no reason why he couldn't record both 30 goals and 40 assists this year, especially if things click chemistry-wise and everyone stays healthy.
It's going to be a big year for Brock Boeser, as he looks to prove to the Vancouver Canucks' management that they made the right decision to give him $7.25 million annually and hopefully, he can begin this season like he did last - with two goals on opening night against the Calgary Flames.
