Kevin Lankinen believes that the Vancouver Canucks have one of the best goaltending duos in the National Hockey League heading into the 2025-26 season.

The Vancouver Canucks' 2025-26 schedule is set to begin in four weeks and thankfully for the fan base, it appears that everyone is at 100 percent health, including the goaltending tandem of Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen.
Despite Kevin Lankinen signing a five-year deal with the club back in February, it's still Thatcher Demko's crease and he'll be the one starting for the club on October 9th, but there's no question that the Canucks are quite lucky to have someone such as the Finnish netminder to fill at 1B role as he's undoubtedly better than the majority of backups around the NHL.
Recently, Bleacher Report gave the Vancouver Canucks' goaltending tandem a very low ranking - 21st out of the league's 32 teams, but Kevin Lankinen sees them way higher than that.

Kevin Lankinen believes Vancouver Canucks have one of the best goaltending tandems in the NHL

When speaking with reporters at the Vancouver Canucks' annual golf tournament on Monday, Kevin Lankinen was asked for his thoughts about the team's goaltending situation heading into the season.
Lankinen said that he believes him and Demko are at the top of the list in the National Hockey League and are one of the best duos, with both of them giving the team a chance to win every night.
"Yeah, I think we're right there on top of the list. That's the mindset we're going in with. I know Thatcher is an elite goalie, and I want to be up there, too. I feel like whoever's in net, we've got a good chance to win some hockey games here this year." Lankinen said.

The Helsinki native will likely suit up for around 30-32 games for the Canucks this season, with reports indicating that the team is hoping to keep Thatcher Demko around 50 starts during the 2025-26 campaign, thus keeping both netminders fresh for the stretch run in March & April.
