The Vancouver Canucks have finally received some positive news on the injury front regarding star goaltender Thatcher Demko, who hasn't played in two weeks.
From the moment the Vancouver Canucks hit the ice for the start of training camp in September, they've been dealing with injury after injury from forward Nils Hoglander, who is expected back at some point in late December after undergoing surgery nearly two months ago, to goaltender Thatcher Demko, who has spent his fair share of time on the sidelines dating back to April 2024.
Demko missed practice back on November 7th and didn't suit up in the team's back-to-back that weekend for what the club called "maintenance reasons" and in his return to the crease against the Winnipeg Jets, lasted just one period before needing to be replaced by Kevin Lankinen, with reports indicating that the netminder would be out two-to-three weeks with a minor injury.
"Some (relatively) positive news for #Canucks on Thatcher Demko this morning. Early indication is that Demko is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a minor injury.
It's unrelated to his previous knee injury and unrelated to why Demko took maintenance days last week." Seravalli said.

When meeting with reporters last Sunday to discuss the signing of forward David Kampf, General Manager Patrik Allvin gave an update on the status of goaltender Thatcher Demko, sharing that the San Diego native would be out week-to-week, but didn't specify as to what his injury may be.
Flash forward a week and it appears that there may be some progress, albeit minor, in Thatcher Demko's recovery from injury as Head Coach Adam Foote told reporters on Monday that the 29-year-old will accompany them on their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins tomorrow against the Anaheim Ducks.
"As per Adam Foote, Demko will be joining the #Canucks on their upcoming road trip" Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News said.
