In a new trade report, it appears that the Vancouver Canucks are have found their ideal trade partner in the Toronto Maple Leafs as general manager Patrik Allvin desperately tries to fill the glaring holes in the lineup, specifically at forward.

With the NHL season quickly approaching, the Vancouver Canucks made it clear to all NHL teams that they are "open for business" and that they are looking for a centre or depth forward in order to solidify their roster.
All summer long their goal was to find an upgrade at centre on the 2nd-line, even going as far to say their are desperate, which the current slotted in centre, Filip Chytil clearly is taking exception too.
His performance against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday really made that clear, recording a goal and an assists, highlighted by a fantastic cross-seam pass to Willander, who ripped a wrist shot past Ivan Prosvetov to open up the scoring.

Vancouver Canucks turning to the Toronto Maple Leafs for help through a trade?

Even with Chytil playing well and earning his keep, in today's NHL, you can never have too much depth when injuries are running so rampant.
According to a new report, the Canucks may have found a perfect trade partner in the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are actively selling some of their depth forwards.
Insider David Pagnotta, as shared by NHL Rumour Report on X, noted:
"I do think the Canucks... are going to start just looking around for a mid six, bottom six type of forward; they started poking around, I think they'll escalate that a little bit."
If a trade were to occur, what names are most likely ton be involved?..
For Vancouver, veteran forward David Kampf is the clear stand out as a realistic option when it comes to adding depth in their bottom-6.
Making $2.4 million a season, it is the obvious option for the Maple Leafs to want to shed as a contract. He is calm presence, reliable defensive forward and a steady contributor on the penalty kill that makes him expendable on the Maple Leafs but an enticing fit for the likes of Patrik Allvin.
A trade may be the best fit both sides as it would give Kampf the chance for more consistent playing time, the Maple Leafs can clear a contract and the Canucks get a reliable depth forward.
