Victor Mancini is knocking on the door hard to become an NHL regular defensemen for theVancouver Canucks, so far his training camp this year is proving just that, and it is very likely to see him on the opening night roster.

Mancini is a big mobile defensemen, and at only 23 years old aims to make his mark on the big stage and be a long time player for the Canucks.
"The Vancouver Canucks organization will look a bit different both at the NHL and AHL levels this season as some players have moved on, whether that be through free agents or trade, among them being Calder Cup champion John Stevens, who signed in Finland with Kiekko-Espoo."-Jaxon

Victor Mancini proving he belongs on the big stage with the Vancouver Canucks.

Ben Kuzma of the Province spoke to the merit of Mancini, and how his camp performance so far should earn him a spot on the team.
"In his first shift, he didn't rim the puck under pressure, but wheeled to get out of the zone. He then stepped up from the blue-line in the offensive zone for a heavy sideboards hit to negate an exit. He was also the quarterback on PP1 and did a deke for a scoring chance. He then moved down from the point high slot to bury a Linus Karlsson corner feed to make it 2-0. He then delivered another corner boards cruncher hit in second period."-Kuzma

While it is only preseason, it shows that Mancini is becoming more and more of a presence on the ice. It often takes bigger players more time to develop into their bodies, and get accustomed to playing with a bigger frame. It may be finally time for Mancini to show that he is ready to be an NHL regular, and can be a presence with or without the puck. Canucks assistant coach Scott Young even chimed in on his ability.
"«He's an excellent skater. He's a big boy. You don't usually see guys with that size being able to skate as well as he can. He's aggressive and not shy to take ice, which is great."-Young

If Mancini keeps putting up performances like he did last night, there is no doubt he will find himself in the starting lineup.
