The Canucks announced last night that Ilya Mikheyev would be out with an injury for the remainder of the current season. The Canucks way of handling injuries was already being questioned with the Tanner Pearson case.
Lots of question marks were left unanswered once again, Mikheyev announced himself that he had been playing with that injury for the last four months.
Now, obviously, with the precedent case involving Tanner Pearson, everyone has been questioning the Canucks.
Today, via Twitter, Ilya Mikheyev spoke up and stated that he was satisfied with the way his injury was handled. He is the one that made the call to continue playing no matter what.
The reason why he decided to pull the plug after last night's game was to ensure his full recovery for the start of next season:
"If I continued to play, I wouldn't be ready for training camp. I appreciate everyone's concern, but I have no complaints with the way this was handled."
