The Canucks had sent most of their young guns earlier this season in order to help them get more confidence and more icetime. Vasily Podkolzin, Nils Aman, Nils Hoglander and Jack Rathbone were notably sent down.
Hoglander had never been sent down to the AHL before and he'd been struggling in Vancouver. His first few games down required a little adjustment, but he picked up the pace since then and he's dominant. He scored a thing of beauty again last night:
The small-format winger, now counts 29 points through 36 games, including 10 in his last 10. Not only has he been great offensively, but his two-way game and his efficiency on the ice are the two things that have really stood-out.
