MAJOR | Oilers considering trading a former top-ten draft pick and he fits the Canucks' needs
The Canucks have made it quite clear that they were still in the market for defensemen.
The Oilers on their end will be facing a tough decision with their pending restricted free agent and former 10th overall pick, Evan Bouchard.
He was the Oilers' First Round Pick back in 2018 and will be in need of a contract extension over the summer according to the NHL insider Frank Seravalli, not only are they not in agreement as to what his next deal should look like, but the Oilers would be considering moving the defenseman:
After a breakout season last year, when he managed 43 points in 81 games, he repeated his efforts with 40 points on the season.
Bouchard has all the tools needed to be a dominant defender in the NHL, standing at 6'03'' and weighing in at 194 pounds. He's an agile skater with a booming shot, if the Oilers decided to move on him, teams would definitely be lining up to acquire him and Allvin needs to be on top of this for sure.
