WATCH | McDonough gives an emotional post-game interview after his first career NHL game
Tonight's win against the Canucks, was not only a great on-ice performance but the first game of the newly signed rookie, Aidan McDonough.
Freshly out of Northeastern University, he's been with the team for a little while and after a few practices Rick Tocchet finally gave the rookie what he came for:
McDonough played just a little over 10 minutes and registered a shot on goal in a tightly disputed match. He gave a pretty good first impression and proceeded to give an emotional post-game interview:
"Just to have so many friends and family here...And to share it with my best friend since 1st grade, Jack Rathbone, to be out there with me, and to get the two points...Everything you can dream of." Not only was he accompanied by his best friend, but his family flew down to assist a special moment in this young man's career and life.
Hopefully, for the Canucks and McDonough, this was only the first of many games moving forward.
