WOW: This Oilers fan makes a harsh comment on Skinner's leave of absence and no one's taking it well
It was just announced that Stuart Skinner was taking a leave of absence in order to assist his wife while she gave birth to their first child, great news for the Skinners, and best wishes to them while they embarked on the unbelievable journey of parenthood.
The Oilers are on the road, they face the Kings last night and they will play the Ducks and Sharks later this week. Since Skinner is leaving for a bit, Campbell will ride the pine for Edmonton.
Skinner has been a savior in Edmonton this season, especially since Campbell (who was meant to be the goto guy with a $25M contract) hasn't played close to what was expected of him. Though the issue here is that a fan made quite the comment on the announcement regarding Skinner's leave of absence.
''I know the birth of his child is important, but our team is in a tough spot and every win is critical. I would think that his focus should be 100% on the oilers and he shouldn't miss any games so he's supporting his team. The price you pay for playing in the big leagues''
What now? Since their job is to be hockey players, do they stop being humans? Stuart Skinner should miss the birth of his first child since his team doesn't have a worthy netminder to take the net while he's away. We hope for the sake of the Oiler's players that this isn't a representation of their fans.
