Three Vancouver Canucks Land in NHL's Top 100 Trade Value Rankings
The Athletic has named a trio of Vancouver Canucks inside the top 100 of their NHL Trade value rankings.
With Thursday being Thanksgiving south of the border, each team around the National Hockey League has different things to be thankful for, including having an elite player or two on their roster.
For the Vancouver Canucks, their NHL roster has plenty of high-end talent, including captain Quinn Hughes and Swedish forward Elias Pettersson.
Three Vancouver Canucks land in top-100 of The Athletic's NHL Trade Value Rankings
On Wednesday, Max Bultman and Corey Pronman of The Athletic shared their rankings for players and prospect and their trade value in the National Hockey League.
Bultman and Pronman went back and forth debating on who should slot in where, breaking it down into five tiers, with 100 players in total, including a trio of Vancouver Canucks - Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller.
Quinn Hughes came in at seventh on The Athletic's list, which had him in the highest tier according to Bultman and Pronman.
Hughes is untouchable in trade talks, but in terms of his value and what he brings to a team, he would bring the Vancouver Canucks the highest return of any player in the National Hockey League in a deal.
"Still, two players who were in tier 2 last year elevated themselves into this even more exclusive grouping this time around.
Quinn Hughes won last season's Norris Trophy, and the start he's off to this year has him looking like he'll be a finalist again.
That's significant because five of the seven players in this tier have either won the Hart or Norris." Bultman and Pronman said.
As for Swedish forward Elias Pettersson, he was named at 38th on the list, good enough for tier 4, meanwhile J.T. Miller, who has been mentioned in trade rumours in the past, landed at 78th, in the fifth and final tier from The Athletic.
